About Open Space

Open Space is Ohio's premier OER creation and collaboration space for Ohio PreK-12 educators. In Open Space, Ohio’s PreK-12 educators collaborate, build, and share open education resources and best practices in implementation to address student learning needs.

Licensed and supported by INFOhio, Open Space was built on the OER Commons infrastructure and features all the authoring and collaboration tools found on OER Commons, ISKME's digital library and collaboration platform. While hosted and indexed on the OER Commons platform, Open Space has been designed to meet the unique needs of Ohio's PreK-12 educators.

Requirements for Publishing to Open Space

INFOhio developed Open Space to provide Ohio's PreK-12 educators with a platform to collaborate, create, and share high-quality teaching and learning resources. All submissions to Open Space must meet the Open Space Minimum Requirements for quality and accessibility. Please read the rubric before submitting content for publication in Open Space. You may find it helpful to use the

High-quality, standards-aligned content that has been published to Open Space and that meets all additional requirements may be recommended for inclusion in Educator Tools. To recommend an Open Space item for inclusion in Educator Tools, click here.

Join Open Space

Information for Content Provider Partners

Ohio educational agencies can partner with INFOhio to contribute their content to Open Space, making it easier for Ohio educators to find and use that content. If you have multiple content items to contribute, please reach out to us at support.infohio.org or central@infohio.org and let us know you are interested in establishing your organization as an Open Space Content Provider. A member of the INFOhio team will contact you to discuss branding your content, creating Content Provider Sets, bulk uploads of content using our metadata template, and free training.

To contribute content on behalf of an Ohio education agency, you will need to agree to the Open Space procedures and join Open Space. All content contributed to Open Space must meet the minimum requirements for publication, described in the rubric.


INFOhio is hosting two training sessions for Ohio educational agencies interested in contributing content to Open Space. Each training will be 30 minutes with time after for participant questions. Advance registration is not required. Sessions will be recorded and posted on the INFOhio website.

INFOhio partner agencies are invited to learn how to contribute content to Open Space, Ohio's platform for PreK-12 curriculum creation and collaboration. The first session is a prerequisite to the second session. The first session will focus on navigating Open Space, creating an account, adding individual items from your organization’s website, and applying metadata to make your items easier for educators to find.
